found a hood for $20! pending confirmation of condition in pics and a drive up north to retrieve it. Then much umming and aahhing about whether I really should cut into my current hood to make this abomination. Anyway, with a $20 hood in hand I should be able to make a good choice before proceeding :D

Wouldn't it be easier to get a hood from a GC 2.5RS or an Outback Sport? They both have hoodscoops and would probably bolt right on.

while I had this OBS at my house I tested just that. As my subaru is an earlier revision of the Impreza's first generation, in order to fit this later revision of the same generation's hood to my car I would need to change hood, headlights and front grill.

Also, I don't really like it. I like the legacy hood because its scoop is a little more subtle, and doens't have vents.

Also, the appropriate WRX hood for my early revision is A) hard to acquire as they were never in the USA, and B) I don't like it either :P

I just hope one day that I can seduce some poor sod to come have a look under my hood, and cross my fingers they'll still like what they see once they've unhooked my... hood scoop

no sir, my seats are in astoundingly good condition

and are of a fabric the wife and I describe as "a little bit christmas", I wouldn't want to lose that :P
