Last night, the second of the two little ones woke up crying. I asked her if she had a bad dream. She said yes. I asked her what happened in her dream.

She said some one ate her ice cream.

It’s the little moments.

Thought we all might need a bit of a break from the world to remember what truly matters, that no one else eats your ice cream.

I awoke with a jerk from a dream in which I was attempting to pull start the chipper. My question is, did my arm jerk and my brain conger up a dream to go with it, or did I have a dream and my arm jerked? These are important questions. What’s your daughter’s age?

We did not. It was 4 in the morning. She crawled into bed with the other little one and the missus. I went to the spare bedroom to get some sleep.

We also don’t have ice cream in the house because it turns out I have no self control. So there’s that.

I miss innocent dreams like that, back when the biggest of our problems were empty bowls ice cream.

Cute story :)

It’s the little things! I’m a substitute teacher and I’m often teaching elementary school. I have a fraternal twin brother who looks fairly similar to me, but not identical. We both teach in the same district so a lot of the schools and kids know both of us well, and we go by the same, last name, of course, being brothers.

I was teaching in a Grade Primary class (Kindergarten for you Americans) and one of the brightest little girls from the class walked up to me, she was 5 . She said matter-of-factly ...

“Mr. Darkstrike, I’ve been thinking...if your mom named both of you Mr. Darkstrike...doesn’t that get confusing?”

She was so used to calling us by our last names, that it didn’t even occur to her that we had first names, so while trying to suppress laughter, I had to sit there and explain to her that we also had first names just like she did, and that we just don’t use them at school :P :)

Still one of my best teaching memories so far, haha!

This reminds me of one time, when she was like 3 or 4, my daughter woke up and when she saw it was nice and sunny outside, she proclaimed “It’s another beautiful day!”

Around the same age, I recall her having a happy dream that involved butterflies and rainbows.

And when she had a bad dream, it was usually about her older brother teasing her.
