Don’t ya think?

On Sunday I got my flu shot. Yesterday and today I’ve been dealing with some minor side effects. No fever or anything too severe, but I did have a pretty bad headache yesterday (a bit better today) and minor congestion/ runny nose.

The ironic part? I was contacted today about taking part in a COVID-19 vaccine trial at a Cincinnati university. It’s a bit of a drive, but there’s a satellite office that can handle most visits other than the initial consult and the vaccine/placebo injection.

Interesting question. I got a flu shot the day before I was scheduled for a covid test for work. The nurse who gave me the flu shot said there would be no issues.

The person I spoke to today said I’d need to delay actually joining the trial a couple of weeks, but the study is nowhere near full so he didn’t think the delay would be an issue.

I nteresting, have that too - got  mine last Thursday and was thinking yesterday, why don’t I feel very good/no energy today? Oh.. post flu shot malaise... But way better than actually getting flu.

Thankfully my work appears to be planning to stay on shortened days through the end of the year. We’ve been working two 4 hour shifts since early April.

I’ll have to make special arrangements for the first two appointments that I’d need to go to Cincy for since they said they take 2-2.5hrs. After that the local appointments I can set up around my work schedule.

I signed up for a trial but never heard back.  With my luck I’d be in the control (placebo) group anyway.  The wife doesn’t want me to do it anyhow.  She reads too many forums filled with conspiracy theorists anyhow.  She won’t let our kids even take the HPV vaccine, but I told my daughter to go get that as soon as she turned 18 and she did.  Just don’t tell mom.

Some of the conspiracy theories out there are enough to bring humanity’s future into question.

Can you imagine agreeing to a vaccine that a billionaire that’s been involved in vaccine development and distribution of vaccines for ages was involved in. I’m sure there’s a tracking microchip in there somewhere. I can’t fathom someone agreeing to be tracked like that. /s
