This is before the chairs and bags of clothes were shoved in. I forgot to get a pic of it totally full...
My dad and I moved my sisters stuff out of her apartment yesterday. Picked up the van at 7am, got on the second ferry over to the island, packed and loaded all day and just barely got on the last ferry to the mainland. We really should’ve rented the next size up. Three chairs were riding up front between the seats, and we had to leave a couple things behind to be grabbed with a car in a week or two. When we move her into her new place, it’ll be with a van with a box, not just a regular van. Although it was satisfying to get nearly everything packed in there.

Back when we moved out of our 2-bed apartment and into the house we rented a medium box truck. I think it was like the smallest+1. They ended up giving us the largest truck they had because U-Haul gonna U-Haul.
We filled it.*
Twice.

(*Ok not really. We ended up doing two loosely loaded loads rather than one tightly packed load.)
So yeah... you never really know how much crap you have until you go to move it.

There’s nothing quite like stuffing a trunk full of... well... stuff. It’s satisfying to shut the doors with everything snug inside. And that’s some expert level Trunk Tetris , I’m glad you got most of it in.

Shockingly cavernous. I fit an entire bedroom’s worth into my TC when moving. Frame, mattress, two dressers, two nightstands, few lamps, and clothes. The moving company took the rest, and their meticulous way of wrapping everything (every individual utensil got their own bubble wrap treatment), led them to use 1.5 full moving trucks for the rest.

We’re kind of cheating, since my dad worked as a mover for a bit and I semi-regularly load a truck at my work
