Holy crap was it loud and awesome. The sounds, the overruns...perfect . Right up there with an F type R’s v8 sounds   , maybe better . It was the same satin black/grey as the car in this video.  Stood out as a very special machine.

I for one appreciate that these have not yet been sullied by Mercedes’ new upside-down grille + squinty headlight “ALL OUR CARS MUST LOOK LIKE THE AMG GT ” corporate face. The AMG GT style grille slats look good, but otherwise the right side up grille and non-squinty headlights are so much better.

Basically...

I was thinking to myself “unfortunately the last Mercedes doesn’t look that good anymore” before seeing that it was a 2020 and was baffled, then i thought that they were doing some kind of reverse BMW thing !

But now you are saying that it’s just that it hasn’t been facelifted yet and it will follow the other’s path?

F* ** 2020 !

Pretty much every Mercedes model is going to become AMG GT squintified. Some of them are happening as part of facelifts, like the W213 E-Class came out for 2017 (the first pic I posted above) and was just facelifted for 2020 into the second pic above.

Others are happening as new generations, like the new CLA, and S-Class, etc.

The W205/C205 C-Class came out for the 2015 model year and was facelifted (but not AMG GT squintified) for 2019. I’m pretty sure it won’t be AMG GT squintified until the new generation arrives.

Yesterday at my shop we had a 1st gen E63 in for an oil change. It was just bought the day before by a young Romanian guy, and when he got it back he promptly went across the parking lot and did some burnouts.

Did you drain it from both drain plugs?

I’m front end. All I touched was the key fob.

Maybe just let your guys know, if this isn't a car they work on regularly. Most people don't realize there are two drain plugs.

Will do. I did end up helping the tech reset the maintenance light (just Googling it) but we had a bunch of other stuff going on so didn’t notice if he’d done both the drain plugs. I know it was in the bay quite awhile, and the owner was watching it carefully - apparently he’d had a prior car’s engine grenaded by a different corporate shop messing up an oil change in the past and was paranoid, understandably so, about his new exotic meeting the same fate. Car sounded awesome. That said, it’s not the first oddball Merc we’ve gotten; my first week there we had a CL600.

Not draining from the second plug isn't a huge deal, it's only maybe a liter. Lots of people don't do it. So don't stress over it too much.
