After !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! a few months back here it is in the flesh. Kind of impressive for the midsize sedan category or people wanting something fun to drive. Its pretty much the same spec wise as the new Kia K5 GT: 290 horses/ 310 ft lbs of torque from the new 2.5L turbo 4 paired to an 8 speed dual clutch auto. The differences that make separate it from a standard Sonata include quad rear exhaust, bigger front air intakes, 19" wheels, black trim, standard sporty car stuff.
Inside it gets N Line touches like sport pedals, and a few other N Line badges to let you know you could probably keep up with that Ecoboost Mustang from the stoplight. Like on the bottom of the steering wheel:
By the push button shifter:
And on the seats, which get some suede look inserts and N embroidery :
No word on pricing yet, but I’ m expecting it to start in the low to mid $30's and either sit somewhere mid to top trim in the Sonata lineup.

I’m not sure if the front actually looks better or if the angle is tricking me

I’m fairly certain it does.

I barely noticed it was different!
I hate to sound like Debby Downer but this car does absolutely nothing for me. But....
... i do have to say, I’m so glad they are doing this and also that it hasn’t been turned into a crossover (yet)
Having m ore performance* cars is a good thing.
*your definition of performance may vary

It looks better. Better than the upper trims of the regular Sonata. And worlds better than the base SE which they didn’ t even bother with.

The steering wheel is such a sadface.
Hopefully it will be fun to drive, though .

Fairly certain that the front actually looks better or the angle is making it look different?
Personally, I think the color and the post processing of the images is a big factor. The ceramic white softens the strong body lines and the lack of obvious post processing on the images makes it look “better” to me.
The DCT shifter configuration is a bit meh to me but I can see why it was done that way.
