Local mail thief. It’s got me mixed up as it looks like a late ‘90s Camry profile, but the grille doesn’t match up.

Yep, late 90s Camry. For some reason when it’s pointed directly at the camera, it has a bit of a 626 grille vibe going on, but between the side profile, the hub cap d esign, and the tail lights, I’m still voting Camry.

Your mailboxes don’t close or do they have “universal” keys for them?

It wants to be an XV20 Camry so bad, but the tail lights are way too tall. I think it’s a late 90s early 00s Mazda 626

Most residential mailboxes don’t lock if they're the individual, private kind. Mine does, but only because it's part of a neighborhood cluster box.

Was GTI latter guess is what my first thought was. I just can’t remember a Camry of any gen having thta grille. My first thought was Mazda 626, and that exhaust leak is very common on those cars.

Maybe they just wanted to save you some time, and place your vote for you?

In NJ we have started getting our ballots. And I just reminded myself to check the mailbox...

Yup, absolutely 100% Camry. My brother had one of these, even in the green this car appears to be. No mistaking it.

Grill appears to be from one of these XLE (i think it was) specs that had chrome on it maybe? -

Looks like it. The grille may have had a slight change during its mid- cycle facelift.

97-2000 Camry. Can tell by the rear tail lights are long and thin. A t 0:15 you can differentiate the orange corner signal lights and the reverse lights by the licence plate.

The US spec Accords appear to not even be the same car as the one you’re showing. Or is it just the grille that is throwing me off?

Speaking of New Jersey, while reading about the potential shitshow involving Pennsylvania’s mail in ballots , I read this:

In New Jersey, for example, state officials are sharing pithy instructions: “Vote, sign, seal, return.” The “sign and seal” refers to steps that voters need to take for the inner envelope, before they place it in a larger envelope to return it

Seems like it really needs to be “Vote, sign, seal, seal again, return” if they want people to seal the ballot in a privacy envelop and then put that in a mailing envelope, so bad guidance. Of course hopefully New Jersey isn’t looking for excuses to disenfranchise people, so maybe it doesn’t matter.

I don’t think these even share a single body panel. Looks like an entirely different car to me.

US cars always have a front amber section for the side marker lights which is an easy way to tell their country of origin. We also have to have a rear side reflector which are often just tacked on even for US only cars.

Personally I think our Accord looks better. The Euro Accord looks smaller but not quite as small as a Civic.

The 2000s Accord was pretty bland looking and I prefer the earlier model.

To be honest, I see a lot of Hyundai Sonata in the Euro Accord.

Kinja'd!!!

But dang your Accord is so much better looking.

Kinja'd!!!

In sedan form at least. I think your hatchback is trying too hard to be a sedan.

Kinja'd!!!

Kinja'd!!!

Our Accord was sedan and coupe only after the 2000 or so generation but the previous gen came as a wagon. I don’t think we ever got an Accord hatchback or liftback sedan.

Ours is just kinda meh in sedan form but kinda cool in coupe form. Looks like a baby NSX from the rear.

B ut it doesn’t appear to be a Civic sedan. Most of those Civics were sedans here and looked like this.

I haven’t read too much on it (I’ve been trying to avoid certain things lately!) but I’ll let you know how it looks when I get it.

I was happy that the state just said “We’re mailing them out” instead of trying to appease everyone with ten confusing options on how to vote . It may not be the best plan, but it’s a unified plan that makes it easy to vote .

I do know that if you want to vote in person, you will actually be filling out a provisional ballot, which will likely be tallied much later (2 weeks?) after election day , once they confirm that you didn’t also send in your postal ballot. While I’m not thrilled that they discouraged in-person voting, they are doing a decent job of letting people know that.

I look forward to New Years Eve, when we finally find out who won the lawsuit  e lection.

sorry that was me using hyperbole...its bigger than the civic and its own model... but it looks pretty similar to the civic we got and isnt like...massively bigger...

also...dont see many civic sedans over here...amd the coupes are getting ridonculously pricey

Any early 2000s or late 90s Civic has become much less common in recent years but the coupes are still a good choice for a cheap beater as they haven’t succumbed to rust here in the south. The hatchbacks have become uncommon enough to find in good condition their value has climbed as people still want to rice them. Less people want to rice a coupe so many are still commuters. Why are the coupes pricey in your neck of the woods?

Kinja'd!!!

No idea why your sedans were liftbacks when ours weren’t

I’ve been voting by mail in NJ for at least two presidential election cycles. The ballot comes in an envelope, and inside that is the ballot and another envelope IIRC. You seal the ballot a nd then seal the envelope, and you sign the envelope I believe. Also, make sure you look at both sides of the ballot. The ballot questions are on the back, which I’ve almost missed before.

That’s t he facelifted 97 to 01 Camry. I had a white one last year. They changed grill and taillights. Its either a 2000 or 2001. Similar one:

need for speed and forza i think...also..theres not that many of them left

tho... tbh..its mostly coz they seem to be rarer than hens teeth on the used market here

tho..the newer ones are dirt cheap (all like...10 of them currently for sale)

Were the coupes all that common to begin with? Maybe they’re cool because they’re different. Well, I say “cool.” An old Civic coupe is what you end up with here if if you just want cheap wheels and don’t care what it is. An old Civic coupe with absurd camber and a fartcan exhaust is what you end up with here if you need to get to your job at McDonald’s but you still care about being as obnoxious as possible.

i dont remember them being all that common before tbh

but nowadays they are tuner bait

lower it a bit ask 15 grand more than its worth kinda thing...

They are far too common here to get half that. 99 Civic coupe in good shape? $750. 99 Civic coupe in bad shape? $350. 99 Civic coupe with 3000 miles on the odo? Auctions for more than what is was worth new. No in between.

The hatches fetch a little more because tuner bait but there are still enough around to meet demand. Prices may soar soon though as the people late to the radwood trend wake up.
