The TL needed some tires, so I went ahead and got a set of Bridgestone RE980AS’s for it. Now that I’m not planning on trading it in, I might as well splurge on some awesome tires.

(Also, I work for Bridgestone, so a nice employee discount helps.)

They’re amazing. Took the car on a ~100 mile round trip drive after work and it performed beautifully.

Not from today. This was just from a mountain run back in the summer. I no longer have this license plate on the car.

Good, fresh rubber - unlike the post two prior to this one.

I like new rubber, I have Bridgestones on my Acura as well. I changed to these rims and got new tires when I bought the car.

Those are good too. I tried to buy a TSX wagon last week, but the bank valued it at so much less than what the dealer was asking for it that even without any negative equity from my trade-in  they wouldn’t have approved me for it.

I found one with 42k miles and it was dealer maintained in Seattle, the records showed even the wiper blades were changed at the dealer haha. It was like new so I had to get it, I was looking for one. I bought it from a dealer and they mostly had much more expensive vehicles, I think they just wanted it gone, I gave them my old CRV and paid cash.

How are they performing? Being Bridgestone employed helps, and is why I’m not saying “should have got Pilot Sport All Season 4's”.

I actually had Pilot Sport AS3’s on it before, but the previous owner did that . I like the RE980s, I think they feel great, a bit stiffer than the Michelins and very grippy. Granted, I’m being paid to say that, but it’s a genuinely great tire.

The AS 3 is 2 generations old now, the As 4 is the cream of the crop, unless you need snow traction but don’t want winters, then you get the DWS-06.

I have DWS-06s on my Prelude. Had I stayed at my old job I probably would have gotten them for the TL as well. It does snow here once or twice a year.

I was using Carmax for this one. I’d tried a few regular dealers and they kept trying to do typical shady dealer stuff. Things like advertising a Fiesta ST-Line as a regular ST, trying to bait and switch me, etc. So after a few tries I threw my hands up in the air and went back to Carmax. The wagon came from a couple states over, but as I said, they wanted more for it than my bank was willing to pay for.

Nope, just noticed they weigh less than other tires.
