H eard lots of rustling in the front yard, went to check it out and 2 loose dogs were tearing at one of the cats. One dog on each side attempting some sort of tug of war, they scattered when I yelled at them. The cat was alive b ut her guts were hanging out.

Took her to the vet, but knowing the owner didn’t have money for surgery, and with the chance of it getting complications, I had her euthanized. Went into the room with her for comfort as she went.

Not a huge fan of cats, but she was only a few months old and I’d seen her born. Fuck ed up day

Report the dogs as dangerous animals to your town/animal control. If the owners aren’t willing to keep an eye on their dogs, they should be held responsible.

Very sorry to hear that. Make sure you call animal control; that could have been a small child.

I often regret not calling them when a loose dog attacked mine.

I’ve got 2 older cats 7 & 15 lbs. They keep the yard dogs in shape. Scratched them early and as often as needed. Th e 3 dogs in residence at the moment are 30+ lbs. And there’s an agreement here that the dogs get to run during the day, cats at night.

Mine take a few bugs and chipmunks, a water rat now and a gain. Th ey play with the lizards but get bored easily. Deny them gratitude when they bring something to you and they’ll get the message. Also plenty of toys to beat up when they’re indoors.

We had a number of people attacked in town by a dog, including kids, but no one did anything until it happened to a cop, his daughter, and his dog. You’re a good man for helping out the cat and trying to stop it from happening again.

I was out running one day and saw a dog dart out between two cars and get hit, right in front of it’s family. Including small kids. I stayed with the dog in the street until it passed while the family was hysterical on the sidewalk. Small dog, don’t even think the driver knew he did it. It was terrible. What you did was a good thing, even if it wasn’t an easy thing.

Sorry you had to do it.

My brother’s girlfriend was attacked by some pit bulls trying to get at her dog and fell down some concrete stairs as a consequence a few months ago. That breed of dog wasn ’t even allowed in the apartment complex. I never heard what came if it but I think the worst they could get is a small fine which basically ensures it will happen again

That’s why you go to your animal control, not your HOA or apartment committee. Here in Saskatchewan, dangerous animals that attack people or other animals have to be impounded until the courts make a decision, which can include the destruction of the animal.
