The !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! is an organic Tahitian !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! that is very good, it’s based on a single cane variety (r( h) ums are most of the time based on juice and/or molasses from multiple varieties) called Otaïti which is local and was even the most commonly cultivated in the world during the 19th century but then went out of favor and almost extinct until they decided to “revive” it around 2010 to make rhum .

Kinja'd!!!

It’s similar to some great Haïtian Clairin in both nose and taste.

The nose initially smells like Williams peer alcohol (which i love) but also with some hint of plum alcohol and some celery and a smokey feel .

It is dry (like it should be !), has a fruity cane taste and hints of vanilla and pear (and maybe a little cocoa) , it’s not as complex as a good aged rhum but it’s great sipper .

O n a comparison to more common white non- sipper   rhum agricole, it doesn’t have any fresh cut grass and ripe plum taste notes, both the nose and the taste evocates more of a fruit eau-de-vie (which it technically is) .

When kept evaporating on the glass it’s leaning way more on the plum side

Greatly recommended .

The Hinano beer... well, it’s a very “light” beer that is similar to a Peroni Nastro Azzuro, not ( very) tasty but easy to drink (soda like) , i quite like that (i also like good ones, don’t worry ) .

Very defini te ly nothing involving alcohol: I overindulged yesterday and I’m feeling sorry for myself. Also, it’s 9am here. So coffee....

And here I am stuck with cheap McCormick Rum . Envy! Can’t beat a good rum for a few shots. Looks like a good chaser, too.

I probably shouldn’t have anything, but there's still time to change my mind.

Bought some Elijah Craig the other day... Mix in some water and sip away is going to be the name of the game for the next however long it takes for me to finish the bottle.

Might switch to Woodford next, and get it from BevMo! rather than overpriced grocery store.

Looks like a good night for you!

Tonight it’ll probably just be water and a coke zero with my meal. Alcohol service will resume tomorrow evening after work , probably.

That rum sounds delicious, I’ll have to make a note of it, always up for new things.

Not trying anything new tonight, though, just an old reliable - Dubonnet Rouge and  Tanqueray with a lemon slice

I’ll be drinking a Cafe Vanilla Soylent tonight. It’ll be my dinner. Mostly because I hate cooking at work. Any time I have something tasty, I get busy and the food gets cold.

Polishing off the last of the Harvey’s Bristol Cr eam. Not the best, far from the worst. Good palette, nice aromas, smooth with just a hint of a spicy bite after.  Just wish it were a bit sweeter, I prefer sherry’s on the sweeter side.

Don’t think i ever tried the Elijah Craig but i quite like the Woodford Reserve which is quite easy to find and “ cheap” here (around 30€ a bottle), really like the Blanton’s but it’s not easy to find where i usually shop.

I was originally intending to get Woodford, I like that stuff a lot... but I was at a grocery store and the Elijah Craig was $10 cheaper... and at the price I would normally get the Woodford at. Decided to go with what was cheaper and convenient.

Not disappointed. But I still want some Woodford!
