On my drive to a school I substitute at, I pass the home of a couple that work as rural mail carriers for Canada Post - therefore.....JDM import 2-for-1! Rural carriers here can get a special allowance to help them towards purchasing RHD vehicles if they so wish here. :)
A second-gen Nissan Elgrand (they JUST imported this) and a RHD Subaru Forester! :)

Are we sure that van isn’t a Google Street View fail?

I would like to drink beer with these folks.

They used to have a RHD JDM import Subaru Legacy (the
MCM SuperGramps generation) as well, which I see is parked behind their house now...not sure if they are using it or what, but at least they still have it!

Fun fact, a lot of used JDM cars end up in Russia, even thought they drive on the other side of the road. I road in one on the way to the airport, but my phone died as I was going to take a picture sitting in the left front seat; it was the first time I got to ride in the front left seat, other time was in the UK.

Yes, positive. I saw it last week as well, but never pulled the images off my dashcam then, but did after yesterday’s drive.
Looks like this up close, so a 2003 or so

Yup, I’ve seen that in a lot of Russian dashcam videos! Makes sense....Russian car quality is...questionable...Japanese car quality is very good, JDM exports of older cars are comparatively cheap and Russia is close to Japan, win win!

I wish we had rural mail carriers around my neck of the woods. Never seen a private vehicle used for mail delivery.

i see RHD all the time
:P

But how common are LHD vehicles tho? :P

Well, Canada is big....and we have way less people than you, so Canada Post hires rural carriers to pick things up from the Post Offices and deliver with whatever car they own :P

Dedicated mail truck depots make more sense here where there is much more population density across a larger area. It isn’t conducive to seeing lots of JDM imports though.

extremely rare

We don’t see a LOT of JDM imports here in Nova Scotia, but more than I’d think considering we’re on the other side of the country from Japan! :)

Oz seems to have tricky registration rules for cars....would it be hard to register one there if one were to ever import one? I know it’s hard to find insurance companies here willing to insure RHD...

Grumble grumble stupid import laws.

Depending in which state you’re in, some they need to be 25 or 30 years old
Then it’s not a problem, younger is impossible

Damn, and we here in Canadialand sometimes think our 15-year import-near-anything law is harsh!
