The one with better side and rear visibility. Front, not so much.

I think once you have the forklift you can just take the Camaro home too.

I looked for an E9X in the background, sadly I couldn’t find one, but I do kinda like the newer Volvos.

Think of the oppopoints with the forklift
![]() 09/23/2020 at 14:11 |

its enough forklift for both
might be over its officially rated capacity...but that doesnt mean it cant do it
just means its on you if it breaks...most can go over capacity by quite a bit

I fondly remember synchronized forklift driving back in my hydraulic mechanic days for lifting cylinders too heavy or too long for any one shop forklift. Occasionally we would have to employ all three forklifts to move around cylinders from very large cranes. The fact that all three shop forkifts were wildly different machines made it all the more interesting to use in a synchronized fashion. OSHA would not have approved.
There was also the time I had to drive a 40ish year old, 40 ton forklift across Albuquerque. Almost skewered a Suburban coming up to the first red light failing to take in account how far out in front of me the 16 foot long forks were.

I used to drive one at a marina down a boat ramp into a river to lift boats out. We regularly lifted boats that the hydraulics could handle but the counterweight could not. Some you had to be very careful going down the ramp because too hard on the brakes would send you over forward. Coming up you’d have little to no steering because it was so light in the rear. This was an every day kind of thing. OSHA would have just exploded.

Can I use the forklift to take the engine out of the Camaro? No chance I drive the Camaro.

Exactly, our teamsters have tried tricky things on shows and they tend to tilt forward. They order the massive fork for that stuff now. For medical trade shows I remember some companies actually bring in real machines like an MRI, worth a million dollars, and they run it during the show in a room. They are fucking heavy full of magnets.

Amazingly I never* dropped a boat off the forklift, despite this little dance.
*I may have had an exciting ride down the ramp once where I came in a little too fast, couldn’t brake hard because I would have tipped, so I did my best to lower the boat and ease the brakes in such a way that when I got to the water, the boat would be down and splash and I could jam on the brakes before I went in the river, but late enough not to drop the boat on the ground. I made it. Just.
