In an effort to compete against the new $39,995   VW ID. 4, Tesla has announced the new trim level for the Model Y:  

Tesla is proud to announce t he all new Model Y Super Ego Edition.

The all new budget friendly Model Y Super Ego Edition will start at $39,994 and will feature 202 HP and will be capable of 0-60 in a blistering 8.1 seconds. This best in class SUV will be available with Full Self Driving and will represent the future of Elon Musk’s vision. With pre-orders already reaching 35 million cars the Model Y Super Ego Edition will be out sometime late 2020.

Panel gaps within industry standards are a low cost option.

The ‘Modestly Sized Ego’ trim is a little cheaper but is assembled by unpaid interns so you will not get the quality construction Tesla is famous for.

What’s funny about “Full Self Drive” for me?  I ran across an interview of Musk AT THE IPO in 2010...  in which he promised he’d have full self drive on the Model S in 2012.

Well it’s one thing to “promise” some BS.... but it’s a whole ‘nuther level of scam artist to actually put vaporware on the price list and take customer money for it.

And, yeah, it’s another plane-of-scuminess to imply that “you should buy it now because the price will continue to go up”.

And then there’s “hey, you need to take a huge car loan out” to BUY FSD so you can be part of The Tesla Network in early 2020— the car will make its own car payments for you!!!!

Really. People did that.
