That interior is so.... blah. After all the praise in the description and how cool/awesome/rare the color combo is, it ended up being a gray car with a black interior.

Ah yes, the banana boat phase Mercedes went through.
What is this and why does it look so cheap?

I would like to hear what Steve Lehto would say about this sentence.
“ Everything works perfectly on the car and it does not need a thing.” Is that a quantifiable statement instead of puffery? If something does not work on the car, would the buyer have a case against the seller?

A good friend of mine’s father owned one of these. He bought it used when it was 1 year old for an insane discount vs. new.
It was the most badass subtle luxurious thing ever.
(until he got a 2018 S63 Coupe)

In comparison, my car’s $3,125 per year depreciation seems completely reasonable!

That’s looking at things with the glass half full. :)
My entire
car is worth approximately 4-6 months worth
of deprecation on yours. :P

Except the fact that my car has a few issues. Last night I was crawling around under it (again). I need to replace the oil pan gasket, then take it in for a timing belt/water pump/tensioner/few other small things. I really can’t complain, though. I’ve owned it something like 13 years, and it’s 19 years old, with ~290,000 km on it. I’m hoping to keep it running for a few more years yet.
I’m pining for something electric, but I still can’t quite justify it.

Well, my car’s German, 12 years old, and 130k miles, so it’s had its share, too!
Hopefully the right reasonably-
priced EV presents itself to you before long!

You’re much braver than I am. :P
Right now my top pick would be a used Chevy Bolt. I’ve seen a few pop up for ~$15k USD, which is still a lot for me (top priority right now is getting the house paid off)
. With the exchange rate and import fees and all that, it’d probably end up being ~$24K CAD, which is still more than I’m willing to spend. I’ve been hoping that all these new EVs coming out will drive down prices further, but I think there’s too many people like me wanting to snap up the used ones as the deprecation really settles in.

Haha! Actually in the process of selling it to my brother, so...
Awesome that you’re working on getting the house paid off! Definitely the right move, long term. Peace of mind is invaluable.

That’s what I figure. Should the economy implode further, we’d at least have minimal expenses. Between property tax and insurance, I think it’d be something like $6-7K a year.
Only another 5-ish years go go left on the mortgage. Not too bad, considering we’ve lived here ~4 years.
