51,000 miles, I like it...10/10 would not get up my road in the winter without snow tires and a couple hundred pounds in the back.  Also the automatic really makes it a hard sell. You really need a manual to ring out the ample power developed by Nissan motors that are close to 40 years old.

I like it. I don’t know enough about these to know what it’d take to swap in the right transmission, but it’s a pretty cool starting point for the price.

I wouldn’t bother with a transmission swap. Just drive it as-is and relish in my dangerously retro pickup.

It’s probably worth that much even as an auto, but I couldn’t imagine using it as a legitimate bark -hauler/dump runner. Having a manual and a loaded bed and pitiful power on my own 40-year old pickup makes all the difference in the world to me.

Oh man. That brings back some memories. My old scout master used to have a few of these (one to drive, the rest for parts). One time we were hauling sand bags to sell (in winter). Someone found an old ski pole in the back, and was able to poke it through one of the rust holes and touch the road, all while we were driving along.

It’s allegedly a half-ton — but yes I once hauled 1,186 lbs and it was not great, would not do again.

But of course you would have to add some $$$s to the equation.

Yeah I had that much, give or take in the back of my shorty. (2 large v8 engines, 2 transmissions) It would do it, but it didn’t like it.
