Shot on 2011-expiry Vietnamese-market Fuji Superia 200 for you photography nerds out there. As for the car, it’s absolutely superb. An incredible performance package that’s no more punishing in everyday use than a Golf R. I always said that I’d never buy a brand new car, but if the numbers work...

Hey, I’m sure TSP would love to know how his new car actually drives.

I drove an Si on Monday before an unexpected press fleet moment shuffled me into a Sport Touring hatchback. While the Si is pretty alright, the Type R is in another league altogether.

Oh, press fleet? Which publication do you write for?

I’ve been the news editor of doubleclutch.ca for about 18 months now and just started road-testing new cars in June. We’re a small outlet based out of the Greater Toronto Area that focuses on new car reviews. Scroll way back on Throttle House’s Youtube page to the Rolls-Royce Wraith review and you’ll get to see my editor-in-chief :D

I drove an ITR on Tuesday and based on that I’d wholeheartedly say the FK8.

Loved the one I drove... You practically forget you are in a front wheel drive car. So capable!
Obliglatory self promotion, more about the experience than in depth so be warned if you do end up watching a bit of it.

I read a few of your reviews and they are nicely rounded and informative. You do some good work there. Do you like it working for a smaller news outlet like you said? Are there plans to grow the site by adding more reviewers for greater frequency of posts?

Thanks! It’s awesome working for a small outlet since it allows for greater flexibility. Right now we’re focused on maintaining our review audience while growing our podcast audience. We had Jeff Glucker on recently which was a blast.

I can definitely see the appeal there. I honestly don’t know who Jeff Glu cker is.
I don't know much about the podcasting business but looking through your articles I saw pretty much only straight up single car reviews. Expanding to comparison tests might be interesting. Or doing comparisons of a feature across one segment or two. There's lots of directions you could go with the written articles in the future.

My dad took my car for a spin yesterday that may have been longer than my test drive before I bought it. But yes the CTR is a different beast. I was tempted, because Honda is really great at tuning adaptive shocks to stay comfy, so I’d be ok with the ride comfort. B ut the low low price and additional features on the Si like heated seats, sunroof and Honda Sensing are why I went that route.

Yeah and honestly I think the Si looks much better too. Plus I don’t like how they’ve done the hatchback on this gen.
