Kinja'd!!!

I drew a car!

Actually, I drew my car.

This took a really long time, mainly because I started it, and then forgot about it, only to remember it today while in a Zoom lecture. Spent the 2 and a half hours I should’ve been listening to my professor drawing the grille and roof racks. Even still, this took many many many hours, and I’m quite proud of it! Now I have a cool, custom wallpaper for my computer. Huzzah!

Not that I’ll be drawing another car anytime soon, but I’m open to suggestions.

Take care!

Nice! that’s so far beyond my capabilities, I’d be more likely to build one from parts than draw one on a computer! Good job. Now have fun photshopping it onto cool and unusual landscapes and backgrounds

What program did you use to do it? It looks great. The TSX is just such a good looking car.

Zoom to the Moon.

It’s a good thing we have computers, because I’m a lost cause when it comes to putting things together. I applaud the fact that you, and a gazillion other Oppos can actually build and fix stuff.

Just drew it bit by bit in Photoshop. Slapped a reference image in there and traced over that . The TSX did make a fine model though.

I got photoshop with the Adobe Creative Suite I have been using for some classes but I’ve never used it. I should figure it out.

It’s really good for photo editing, but I never use it for that (although, the app Photoshop Express for iPhones is really great, and free). I have the suite for school too, but I only ever use it for drawing stuff like this, the occasional poster or whatever. I can take or leave the rest of it (though I particularly hate Adobe Premier, the video editing software. For my money, Final Cut Pro is the way to go).

I learned the free software shotcut over the summer and I’ve never used premier. What specifically do you hate about it?

I've used illustrator but not really any of the other programs.

Premier is overly complicated, and it’s that way on purpose. It’s considered an “industry standard,” which means you train for it and use it for real things, but for a regular consumer it’s absolutely terrible. Final Cut does everything Premier does using a much simpler interface, and is highly accessible to the common man (something the big film industries don’t really want. If anyone can make a movie with a smartphone and a Mac, what’s the point of big studios?)

I’ve never heard of shotcut, but if it works it works!

It’s pretty easy to use but limited in advanced functions. I’ve made a few videos using it and I know how to use its simplicity to my advantage. You have control of audio and video tracks and stuff but the basic functions are much easier to figure out than what you are describing Premier as.

Yeah, Premier is a real pain, so I understand the appeal when it comes to knowing how to use your editor. I’ve been using Final Cut for years (like, 7 or so years) and have just picked it up as I went along. It’s the software I used to make Gearslip, which made it all the easier since I knew what I was doing (even though it was hours of footage).

Looks sharp! Get yourself a Redbubble account and slap that image on some shirts and stickers. Make yourself a few bucks. Your car is rare, unique, and sought after by enthusiasts who will buy anything with that image on it.

Thanks pal! I might just do that and, every so often, draw a new car and throw it on there. Just for kicks. Your van got me into drawing cars, it’s tedious, but rewarding for sure!
