The small body color cross bar in the grille in your gif really is enough to fix it. Nissan seems fairly intent on having this grille shape but hopefully they learn the lesson that Chevy did when they revised the 2019 Camaro facelift with too much black in the middle to the 2020 that gained a crossbar.

The bumper helps a lot, a massive grille might be OK on a tractor trailer wannabe pickup truck, but is kind of out of place on what's supposed to be a lithe, low slung sports coupe.

Oof. No, I think it looks good with the bumper, though Id suggest black vs. Chrome.

Black hood looks decent, a bit 432 like.
What it needs is the A-pillars in matching metallic silver to the roof trim line.
Oh, and a more gracefully curved hood, and less awkward headlights and front fascia.
If you are going to add a bumper, it needs to be above the center of the grille, not at or below the center.

I’d bet it looks a lot better in person.
Remember, the car is a lot smaller and lower than pictures show. The perspective of the pictures tends to normalize the apparent size of the car, they always want the image to fill the frame.

Possibly, but it also appears that about half of it might be f ake, that can be tough to pull off (see Honda Civic brake vents)

The “half the grill is fake” is extremely common in modern vehicles.
Honestly, I kind of like the simple square opening with the obvious bumper bar. To me, it feels more “honest” than the Mustang or the Lexus. It’s not closing up the grill opening to compensate for an obviously oversized opening , and the bumper bar is not hidden in an overly elaborate grill mesh.
It might not be the most beautiful solution that the designers could have made, but I really appreciate the simplicity.
