A food truck that tests eye-hand coordination.

What is Protobot Bricktionary, you ask? Well, it’s mostly the same rules as Pictionary, but with a couple major changes. First off, instead of drawing, you use Lego. This can be done with either physical Lego or digital Lego depending on personal preference or whether the game is being played in person or online via something like Zoom. Second, instead of the Pictionary cards telling you what to make, you use !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . Protobot is a website that generates random, absurd product ideas to help designers test their skills:

Kinja'd!!!

So when it’s your turn, you click “Randomize” and attempt to build whatever Protobot tells you to (such as the food truck that tests eye-hand coordination in the top image). Then the other people playing the game have to try and guess what the product idea is while you’re building it. If somebody guesses before the time runs out (I’m not sure how long the time limit should be yet, but for now let’s just say a reasonable amount of time), then both you and that person get a point. One round equals one chance for everyone to be the builder, and play continues for however many rounds you can stand. The player with the most points wins, of course.

For playing via Zoom, I recommend using Lego Digital Designer (LDD) so you can show your screen to your fellow players. You can download LDD here:

Happy building!

This just got way too real.

And, ooh, that is a Citroen HY Van! It is almost the same color as the one that I saw recently! Except that one didn’t risk you dropping your precious food all over the place. Did you make that?

Yeah, I made that food truck to test out the game. Making it an H-van was just for fun (and I was inspired by the one you saw for the color scheme), and I based the design on this:

Wait, in that first picture that minifigure isn’t wearing pants. They’re right there besides it.

That is a lively rendition and I'm glad that one HY Van I saw inspired you. I always like it when an Oppo spots a truly wonderful and unexpected car. Like the guy who photographed the NSU Prinz Sport earlier this week. That was amazing because that means they actually are out there somewhere.

The pantsless Minifigures is “Where Are My Pants? Guy” from the Lego Movie. Exactly the type who would appreciate an H-van ;) I must’ve missed that post on the Sport Prinz... Sporty microcars are a rare treasure!

And cheaper than I thought as well! If these things sell on BaT for under ten grand, that’s not bad for a microcar! I remember before I bought Phoebe, I actually saw a regular NSU P rinz for sale within my budget, and I wanted it badly. But it was too far away, not running, needed work, an obscure G erman classic and therefore hard to find parts for, may or may not have been missing floors... It just wasn’t meant to be. But someday...

I've never even seen a NSU for sale near me, much less seen one in real life. Practically speaking, Phoebe is a much better daily than a hopelessly obscure German microcar but one can dream.

I dunno, the NSU probably gets much better gas mileage and would be a lot easier to park... But other than that, I think I made the right choice.

I dunno. “Good enough for John Glenn” doesn’t hold the same prestige anymore. And Phoebe hears you talking about other cars. It’s never good for a car to get jealous for attention.

That said, I'd totally rock an NSU.
