Forgive my ignorance, but what price point a re these cars at? Is it an Audi competitor or something more pedestrian like VW or H onda?

Old Peugeot’s, like 2007 ones where just awful cars for complete twats. Current ones are handsome things that are driven by (mostly) nice people who don’t want to be mixed up with the twats in Audis, in the U.K. at least.
Price wise they’re cheaper, like you say VW/Honda money but infinitely more interesting than a Honda and less bland than a VW.
I hope that cleared up anything, I don’t know an American equivalent that makes sense. Dunno, like Acura but french.

As the PSE has still not have been officialy launched i don’t really know for this particular model.

But about the “normal” 508, i w o uld have said it’s similar to VW but it seems that using the brokers (MSRP are sometimes very different from the “real” price depending on the brands) the Arteon starts at ~ 43500€ (including VAT) with a 150hp manual diesel while the cheapest 508 starts at ~25000€ with a 130hp manual diesel... so i will compare with a Passat (which is blander inside and out even if it’s still better than the US/Chinese one) .
The Passa t starts at ~28500€ with a 150hp 1.5TSi manual but for about the same price, you can have a 508 with the 180hp petrol engine and the 8 speed auto .
Base model for both :
HFV has no HFV. But somehow has 2 motorcycles
