Has your neighbor ever seen a bike before? I’m not sure how you can do that and say, “yeah that looks right”

A while back I saw a photo somebody had taken of a bicycle with both pedals pointing the same way. I don’t know how you manage to do that, or how you fail to immediately notice it.

I used to make a point of going through the bike section whenever I went to a department store. It was all too common to find bikes screwed up like this.

Welcome to WalMart! I worked there building bikes for a year and a half. Assembled about 4000 of them. Around xmas time, we had to hire the contract assemblers due to volume . Oh, what a mess these guys are. They get a couple bucks a bike so they just slam them together; don’t adjust anything. If the tyres hold air and the brakes don’t squeal, on the floor it goes! I hope you can get this one figured out and she rides it. 6mm allen. T ake the stem completely out and roll and twist it around. No need to deconn any of the cables.
Just noticed the desk. I used one like that in grade school. Back in the 60s’ Cool, dude!

It’s down right shocking how many people don’t understand the simplest mechanical things. Like how to work in a bike. I have a fimrirnd with two boys, who are 10, and 7 every time I’m over there I have to do maintenance on their bikes because there Dad has no clue how to do anything. I try to show them how to do it but they’re both space cadets who can’t sit for 5 minutes. I’ve had some success with talking them through while they do the work.
