I was out and about for computer work today having a great day before my previously-posted rust discovery....these two gorgeous rides were part of the reasons I had a smile on my face - a first-gen Toyota Celica in a very fetching ‘70s shade of green, and a Model T! :D
I just had to turn around to go back and get another shot of the Celica on my dashcam! Definitely one of my favorite Japanese classics ever...
:D
And who can not help but smile when they see one of these old girls pootling along a pleasant coast-side road with a cabin full of elderly folks dressed up in their Sunday finest...I had a huge grin and gave a big thumbs up out my window as I went past, hence why the driver is waving to me. :)

Those are some good spots! That Celica (pronounced sel-eh-ca or sel-ee-ca?) is just the perfect shade of avocado green.
Is that Model T owner waving or covering their face against the paparazzi ?

He’s waving! I had been giving him a thumbs up out the window, so he was waving back! :)
I’ve always pronounced it “
sell-i (‘i’ as in the beginning sound of ‘icky’)-ka”...no idea if that’s right, haha!

I honestly might use either pronunciation in any given sentence depending on which sounds better. I kind of like sel-ee-ca but most people say sel-ic-a.
