Edit: forgot my buffer image
This video specifically focuses on Democrats, but given Republicans are notorious for not fulfilling any of their campaign promises it would imply serious deficits in our system . “one party” indeed. Dore is interesting as he is very passionate about Dem party policy which I don’t usually follow.

Pontiac, we should demand better! Damn, they should have made that thing.
This guy doesn’t look like he’s embracing the corporatist middle of the road yawners posing as the left in this country - lots of criticism (some of it justified no doubt), but not much going against the glorified carnival barker and serial adulterer in the oval office today :

I do like how he targets some of the endless police idiocy out there anyway, I need to send him a note about the deranged police union chief in Seattle.

If I could wish one concept car into existence, a ‘79 kammback with T tops would be #1.

I took a course as an undergrad on the history of the CCP, I found one particular snippet interesting- under the one party system, a lack of party-based tribalism seemed to result in greater political expediency in social and economic progress. As the country developed rapidly (truthfully up until Maoism became the predominant philosophy), this was to the net benefit of the populace. Under Mao, infighting in the party lead to the well-known catastrophes of the period. Perhaps a stalled-out government is just the sign of a county reaching the end stage of its governance.

I once asked the question; What differences would there be between a one party dictatorship that changed its figurehead every 4-8 years and our current system?

Depressing, how far we have come from monarchy and feudalism just to come right back around to monarchy/ feudalism.

Well, you know what they say about those who fail to learn from history...

The only thing we learn from history is that we don't learn from history.

Promises are worthless until someone promises to repeal the 25 year import ban

I really can’t abide by “both sides” when it comes to comparisons with Trump. If the Democrats were ever as remotely corrupt, deceitful, and destructive of the non-political bodies like the Justice Department as he and his family have been , it was at least 100 years ago.

I suspect I’d disagree with this guy on a lot of things , but... at least he’s paying attention. I keep seeing people act like one party or another is the answer to a problem when that party is a huge offender on that very point.

Dore is hardcore left, he doesnt put up with shit though. I would probably disagree with most of his policies but he is well researched on his criticisms of both parties.

Regardless of party... who in their right mind that WOULD actually be a PUBLIC SERVANT, and a STATESMAN, and BE the better person in government, would subject themselves to what happens to politicians?
Between the swamp of corruption to drown in, the vilification from the opposing, and sometimes even the same side of the aisle, the pay-to-play, the games and nonsense...
Then there is the media
Then there is the mob
Then there are the crackpots who issue threats and stalk and such...
Anyone with half a brain wants to RUN FAR AND FAST away from Washington DC, as well as most state capitals, also.
I have met state and federal elected officials who have tried to stand up, and they meet devastating villification and personal destruction.
Politics is a trailing indicator. Until the society and the culture grows up and figures out that destroying other people is unacceptable, and ultimately mutually and self- destructive behavior, politics will continue to be a meat-grinder, as well.
Ultimately, the people get the government that most of them ask for.

It’s not both sides. The democrats haven’t stopped one bit of this. They keep signing his budgets, no one is putting a gun to their head to give trump more nuclear weapons, yet here we are.
