My brother and father and I took a trip to NYC last December, and we all visited the 9/11 Memorial at Ground Zero. It was the first time I’d ever been there. My family visited the Pentagon Memorial back in the winter of 2018, and I have been to the Flight 93 Memorial in Pennsylvania twice. They are all very powerful places of remembrance and honor, for the innocent victims, the heroes who fought back, and the first responders who gave their lives to save lives.
These are photographs that I took on those visits. The Flight 93 photos were taken on two separate visits.

The pentagon one is stunning, big fan. I love the photos.
Is...that a WWI tank in one of the photos?

Thanks. Maya Lin sure changed the face of memorials in this country. A WWI tank? I’m sure it isn’t, but I’m not sure what you are referring to.

I think the tank is this rock that looks like a tank

The big brown rock indicates the place where Flight 93 hit the ground.

That rock indicates where F93 hit the ground.

that one seems very out of the way, even if you are at the airport i think its in a pretty low traffic area.

When you get down to the end of the long walkway, there is a rough-hewn wooden gate. The gate, and the Wall of Names, are built along a line that is parallel with the course F93 was taking when it crashed. Looking though the gate you see a mowed strip of grass, and the rock which marks the location of the crash.
The structure on the horizon is the visitor center, which was still under construction when we were there.

Not to be crass, but imagine open land is pretty scarce and valuable around there.

i’m sure it is. I don’ t know much about the placement, but I was always surprised they didn’ t put it in the city more, maybe along the fancy new park

It’s at the SW corner of the central parking garage, reachable from the airport hotel:
I can’t say I’ve ever seen it, even though the new official ride share drop off takes you right past it (looks like it’s too short to be seen from the upper road, and there’s a wall and trees that screen it from the lower road )

It looks like they cleared a surface parking lot to make room for it, I’m impressed, parking is in short supply.

If Logan is anything like Austin, they are building their lots up and now out these days.

Yep, there is no out at Logan, it’s already mostly on fill surrounded by neighborhoods and water . You’d have to go at least four miles away to hit any open land at all (and that would be protected marshland), and 15 to hit open farmland. So yeah definitely up. The part of the central garage between the sky bridges and the hotel in my pic above is new, replacing a surface lot. They do have room that they could build another terminal garage in front of terminal E (the northernmost one in my picture).

There is a memorial in the courtyard of one of the main buildings at the FBI Training Center at Quantico. There is a piece of aircraft skin from FLT93 and stone from the Pentagon and the towers. Small, but moving. Apparently a visit to the 9-11 Memorial in NY is part of the training for all FBI agents

Thank you for your continued coverage across today. Those are some really great photos. I've been to the memorial at the Trade Center and it is a sobering place. It really captures the hushed and somber mood of reflection well. Never been to the Pentagon memorial but I'd like to go one day.

Yeah, it seems like the only people who would have the opportunity to see it would be those in the hotel. I've been thru there a few times and never noticed it
