I bought it used in early 2017, when it had 125,000 miles on purchase. It surprisingly came with a full service history from the engineering company that owned it since new. This included overly thorough oil changes and the previous big services required. I was lucky! Most used vehicles carry deferred maintenance.

This job was including all fluids in all diffs and trannys and PS fluid, plugs, injector cleaning, the works. I think the previous alignment I had done by a tire shop was a bunch of hooey, because it was never perfect and was found toed well out to the left. I also, finally, let myself pay to fix the spiral cable from the horn to the steering wheel. I had tried to go without for two years, but, I couldn’t take it anymore. I MUST have that wake-up alarm for the phone users on the road. It’s become critical in the last three years.

Have you driven your car after an oil change and a car wash+wax and felt it was driving better, like it was happy or something? Well, times that by ten, cause this truck drove mush smoother, straighter, easier. It just felt like it.

Next up in the spring will be a suspension overhaul. It’s been this long and pretty much mostly highway miles its whole life so I think the shocks are hard and springs not so springy. It’s not bouncy, but its rather firm when it really shouldn’t be. In will go nice fox shocks and springs and all new bushings. Probably not more than an inch of lift really. I do dearly need a good gps/android/apple stereo unit...something that can repeat the phone screen so I can run waze, nav, music, etc. Perhaps that will be my present to myself in the spring for getting through all this covid winder and keeping my job. suspension and usable tunes.

Does the 2g refer to the purchase price? Because that is one well looked after Taco from what you’ve said. What’s the year? 150k miles isn’t all that much for those trucks.

A nice maintenance always makes a car drive better.

Those are still great trucks, even in 2wd auto like I’m assuming yours is. It’s more likely for 150k to describe the price than the mileage these days.

Huh usually fleet Tacos aren’t 4x4. In fact almost all of them are prerunners around here as there isn’t any snow to actually use your 4x4 in.

This particular Colorado based engineering company built overpasses and constructions projects like that, where 4x4 was used a fair bit when crawling around dirt interstate and road sites. But, mostly highway miles to get there cause their sites were a fair distance away.

150k isn’t really a ton of miles considering fleet use for 9 years. It’s a lot per year but not crazy miles per year. It should serve you well for many years to come.

was 125k in 6 years by previous owner. So thats over 20k/year, which kbb says is high mileage for year. I only drive 6-7k. I evened it out. I estimate i should have 500-600k on it when i turn 65. lol

My car had 100k in 6 years when I bought it which is a lot for private use. Nearly 17k a year isn’t as concerning when it comes early in a car’s life, especially when the condition shows it has been properly taken care of. It seems high mile per year cars either are worn out immediately or loo k brand new with almost no middle ground.

500k miles isn’t unreasonable honestly. I know a person who knows a person who drove a V8 Sequoia 500k in 15 years with no problems.
