My replacement for the bent wheel arrived today, so I dropped off the wheels and tires to get mounted. Picked them up after work today and threw them on. Wheels are Wheel Vintiques Magnum 500, 15x7 in the front (215/60/15 BFG) and 15x8 in the rear (235/60/15). I like the look, even if it is fairly traditional. I definitely prefer them to the 14” Centerlines that were on there.
The center caps are on backorder until later this month. Don’t mind the messy garage...
Next up, address a transmission leak, rebuild the steering box, replace the steering wheel, add seat belts, and a suspension rebuild. Not much. I’m suspecting the cooling lines as the leak, but haven’t hopped under to take a solid look yet. It ain’t perfect, but it’s mine!

I always like the look of a Radial T/A, might not have the best performance but it's a good looking tire and can't beat the price.

Looks good! Definitely an improvement. I have the BFGs in 235/60R15 all around on the Chevelle and want to go wider on the back next time I need a set (but I need wider wheels for that).
How many hundred PSI are in those tires, though? They seem way too... round... at the bottom. Maybe it’s just the pictures.

That’s a keeper I’m my book. They really nailed the styling on that version of the Mustang.

Can’t go wrong with Magnum 500s on a Mustang. Looks fantastic.

For just a local cruise vehicle, they’ll be a-ok. I’ve decided not to overthink this build and just go basic.

Those look really good. Period correct but a size up is a good look.

Thanks, i was deciding between Magnums, or stock styled steel wheels. The Torq Thurst Ds looked good on the Cougar, but I didn’t want to go that route with the Mustang.

After I sold the Cougar, I was having a conversation with my father in law. He asked what was next, and I told him either a TJ Wrangler, or a ‘68 Mustang. I’m quite pleased with the Mustang.

Thanks, I’m happy. When i first stepped back from them, my first thought was “they’re big”. I’m glad I didn’t go with 16s.

Damn what a difference, can’t go wrong with Magnum 500s - now your car looks more 1968 than 1991.

The best thing about a boring traditional wheel like the Magnum is that it will still look great 20 years from now, unlike those 90's abortions you got with the car, or today’s fad of black-painted 22's.
Prepare for a pleasant surprise: The T/A Radials are super quiet. You wouldn’t think so with that chonky tread, but all the blocks are different sizes so they don’t whine.

That’s what I was going for! I definitely appreciate a bit more classic look.

I’m definitely more of a traditionalist. I liked the Torq Thrust Ds and T/As on the Cougar. I’ve always been a fan of Magnums.

The Les Schwann near me in Erie, the guys seem pretty knowledgeable there. So far all I can go on is that they didn’t scuff my wheels up, as I haven’t driven enough to see how the balance went.
I’ve used the Discount Tire in Lafayette on my other vehicles, and have no complaints there, either. Did a great job balancing the second time around on the 4Runner....the 1st go at it was a bit off.

I finally checked tire pressure yesterday....50psi! Holy smokes. Down to 32 and they are a little less balloon like.
