Kinja'd!!!

My place is just a few miles up the road from Estacada. This is getting wild.

I went back for a second trip last night and dragged my Jeep to safety. That’s when I found out my well can’t keep up with the sprinkler I had set up on the roof and it had diminished to a trickle . I’m getting rather nervous.

Not good. I guess nothing to do but hope for favorable winds.

You’ll have a better sense than me, but it sounds like another run to rescue more stuff is way too risky at this point. Stay safe!

I’m sitting at work hemming and hawing over the idea of leaving for another run.

Is your travel trailer still there? If it’s safe to go get that, I think that would be a goo d idea as you can live in it.

I can’t even imagine. I’d never be able to get anything done at work.

At work? That is dedication.

As I say, I wouldn’t risk it, but if you are going to go, it doesn’t seem like waiting is a great idea, sounds like it’s going to get worse before it gets better . I’d hope you can get out early to deal with something like this.

Don’t forget photos and all the important documents - titles, insurance policies, birth records, etc. T hose were the things that hit us the hardest when my house burned.

Good luck and stay safe!

Damn man, that could be two of you now - you and Junkrat :(

I admire the dedication to being at work, but considering the circumstances, I would imagine they would understand if you wanted to make a third trip? I wouldn’t go unless you knew it was safe though...

Stay safe and keep us updated! :(

Fingers crossed this ends soon. We closed up shop early today, lots of employees getting evacuated or up to level 2, shop filled with smoke affecting how people feel. Scary stuff for sure. Stay safe.

Tristan, I’m in North Portland  and I have space for people and pets. I mean, we don’t have a tall fence so big dogs would need elbow grease to make work. But! You’re welcome to come here. Relatively new to kinja but I understand there’s no private message? Anyway hit me up at mjosephabel@gmail.com

The wife's family is all in downtown LO, so that's where we're holed up. Thank you for the kind offer, though!
