The accompanying pic got totally stripped by Kinja-- so I guess this is an existential post.  It can be anything you want it to be.

I’m thinking that you bought a dumb but awesome vehicle.

Close.  Somebody did that and parked it next to “manufactured housing”.

I saw you mentioned in a while ago on Jalopnik but then had to leave for a Toto concert: I’d love the opportunity to talk to someone who knows about VC. In the news it sounds like mythical fountains of money. If Kinja doesn’t have DM, we could connect through LinkedIn. I had just started to flesh out a deck for a moonshot startup but 2020 happened.

I’m new to Kinja but have been lurking a while. I’m a real jalop, I think: I can drive stick even if haven’t changed my oil in a while. I’ve had cars that have gone on to bubble pricing on BaT: VW Bus, Blazer, MR2, Supra.

These days we’re driving a nice sedan, but gonna trade it in for a nicer GS-F after our refi closes. If the difference in the 120 monthly payments made a material difference in my ability to self-fund my venture, I’d drive Fancy Kristen’s recommended G70 2.0T 6MT instead.

Honestly, if I could do it all over again, I’d be tempted to live in a manufactured home park. I’d need a garage, obviously, but otherwise living that cheaply really appeals to me.

I know a couple of retired guys that sorta downsized in that direction then bought into a Storage Condo unit to fulfill their car fantasies. A loft, a couch, microwave, a big- screen... “ Why would I ever go out into this crap again?”

Senior parks are underrated. They are usually serene, and the residents usually have a new dwelling that will require very little maintenance for the rest of their lives, and the HOA type fees are not as onerous as many condos . Easy living.
