Blue-footed Boobys to be exact! (reposting for afternoon crowd)
The bird responsible for the creation of the term “booby trap”...
Joking aside, these were a ton of fun to build. They’re significantly larger than all my other birds, so the techniques used are quite different and I found it particularly fun detailing the heads and necks. These are definitely my favorites out of the Digital Lego birds I’ve made so far!
Hope you enjoyed seeing my Boobys ;)

Th anks! It took me a n afternoon. Digital b uilding goes pretty quick when you have an infinite supply of whatever Lego piece in whatever color you want.

Are you going to build this one in acrylonitrile butadiene styrene?

Probably not, because 1) I’m at college, 2) This was built in a program where some of these parts may or may not actually be available in that color, and 3) Bricklinking these parts, assuming enough of them do exist that I could make the model with slight changes , would be expensive. I’d really like to build this IRL as it’d be an epic addition to my bird lineup, but I probably won’t be building any birds “in the plastic” for quite a while unfortunately.

There was a windows lock screen picture at work one day
featuring a small flock of Brown Boobys that I liked and wanted to find a copy of to download. That was a razor’s edge google search on my work laptop
.

I saw some nice tits on here, too. What’s this program?

The program I’m using to make these is called Lego Digital Designer (LDD for short). You can download it from Lego.com for free and it’s very intuitive to use, although it is seldom updated so a lot of useful newer parts are absent from the program, and lots of parts are only available in the extended version, which is like the regular version but with no color restrictions (which can be useful, but it also means they don’t tell you whether that part is actually available in a certain color, which makes things tricky if you plan on later building the model IRL). But for stuff like this, it works very well.
