I have four infinity stones.

Kinja'd!!!

The Michelin Primacy MXV tires. Treadwear 1000. Comfort and handling 100. I swear these things will never wear out so that I can justify new tires.  They’re like an arranged marriage where you just hope to outlive them and then move on to something more pliable.

Like my horrid hankook dynapro AT/M. They are rock hard, loud and dry cracking, but still have plenty of trea d. They are getting ditched this winter for some better stuff.

That’s funny- my wife’s FJ has those and they also won’t die. My sons LC has Yoko Geolandars and they’re amazing, so I’m going with those on the FJ next

The Pajero came with LingLing God-knows-what s on it: no idea what mileage they’ve done but they’re now 8 years old and have plenty of tread left.

It’s going in this afternoon for Firestone Destination A/Ts. 8 years is plenty old enough for off -brand rubber that’s keeping me alive.

+1 on the Geolandars. Have em on my truck, ran a set up to 60,000 miles on my old XJ Cherokee with great experience. They still had tread, the Jeep rusted out. Damn tires outlasted it.

My old pickup came with Goo dyear Wranglers that wore like iron and even with lots of tread the grip in anything but dry weather was awful. I eventually gave in and replaced them even though they still looked fine . I remember thinking that the replacements (some decent-quality BF Goodrich road tire) ran better in the rain than the Badyears had on dry pavement.

I got rid of a set of Pirelli Scorpion A/Ts on my Silverado that evening after 45,000 miles still had good tread. They were absolutely terrible if the pavement was anything but bone dry. There’s a fairly steep downhill if I take my usual left out of work. If it had even drizzled during the day I went the long way because I knew they’d slide if I had to stop.

I put up with them till I found a different set of wheels that I bought with some low mile Bridgestones. I’m much happier.

My old Mustang GT came to me wearing a set of Hankook Ventus K104s that were so old and hard it was getting near impossible to leave a stop without wheel spin, making me look like some obnoxious hoon. After a couple months, I forked out for a set of Hankook Ventus V12 E vos, which had plenty of grip and ended the obnoxious wheel spin.

I had Goodyear TripleTreads like that. One set lasted 100k.

Hopefully it didn’t end all the wheelspin- just the unintended ones!

I’m not the tire burning type. I got that out of my system 30 years ago. But I do like a good launch and a throaty exhaust. That Mustang GT had mufflers deleted, just cats and tailpipes. It sounded mellow enough unless you put your foot in it. Some good crackle and pops on the downshifts too.
