Saturday I didn’t do well. Sunday, I did much better. The trick to driving the 2018 Camaro SS 1LE fast in an autocross? Be a complete piece of shit and drive it like a total ASSBAG . Overs teer is your friend, this car wants it and encourages it. It needs to be flogged and  s omehow the car rewards bad behavior like nothing else. Now I just need to get used to that threshold and I’ll be good to go.

Haha I suppose it is more fun that way. I also am lef t wondering just what exactly am assbag is and why someone would be one for driving a Camaro hard.

So funny, watching the video I was thinking: wow, this would be faster if he just drifted the corner. Then I read your comment about using oversteer. Haha. The 90 degree corners are the worst, if you go in too fast, a car with weight is just going to understeer until it either stops or you get on the throttle to rotate it.

The course looks fun, btw. Better done than 90% of the AutoX courses I’ve seen.

I had an old 1997 monte carlo that I flogged with pure hatred in autocross. Subtlety? Patience? Smoothness? Nope! Grip it, rip it, and let God sort out the sins from the virtues.

Seriously though, there is something about how much understeer GM dials into most cars that they do reward some harder driving and aggressive, early turn-in. My STs were definitely more neutral/oversteer prone than any of the GM products I’ve seen at an autocross, especially the front drivers.

The Camaro is very neutrally balanced with no natural understeer, it just needs to be flogged
