Edge ST and Stelvio. So at least I still have the neighborhood’s worst lawn AND least-valuable fleet.

Probably WFH emigrants from Seattle who didn’t decide to jack up Bellingham or Spokane housing prices.

The people that sold the home moved to Spokane, but only to rent until they move out of the country. I will miss them. They had me over for smores. Isn't that what being a good neighbor is?

That’s the best kind of neighbor, free treats. Sounds like they might be kind of smart, too.
Th e new ones have at least marginally interesting cars, might bode well.

They’ve been invading our here. My home price is way up this year . They’re all dual income families with two WFH jobs, so they need space for home offices and/or kids...

Congrats on being that neighbor. It’s more fun being that neighbor.

What kind of madman/madwoman parks that close to a crosswalk?

I think with low rates, buyers are in panic mode and are buying everywhere. Being just outside the main rat race like you must be popular. Good time to sell! But only if you are moving to an unpopular area.
Friend of mine just lost out on a place, bidding ended at nearly 100K over ask.

Ive talked to a guy who owens one of those and couldn’t even tell me what the engine was. The only thing he knew about it was the badge on the grill

Yep, the market is hawwwwwwt. Inventory is low, demand at high six and low 7-figures is still high, and enough people with white collar jobs have not been affected by Covid. My neighbors had three offers in 4 days with waived inspections, each very much over asking price...

And that's exactly the type of person the car was made for.

Rates weren’t even that low when it started. The housing availability is so low out here now that the local realtors are hounding us and have quit marketing. There is basically no supply anymore.
We did refi this place to exploit the lower rates (that keep falling, which is mildly frustrating).
We also have no reason to move right now and probably won’t for a long time, if ever before our son moves out.

If you like it, hold on to it. Although plenty of idiots are naysayers about this area, it’s not going to crash. You’ll almost certainly always be right side up. Sucks much more to be the existing people in aforementioned Bellingham and Spokane, where there aren’t a ton of local jobs to support the exploding house prices - it will be like the average income locals being displaced by Californicators and techies 20-30+ years ago.

That’s a pretty interesting pair of cars to go for all things considered. What I don’t get is owning a single family house and street parking.

Well I’m ashamed to admit I don’t know much about my Volvo other than it’s a fairly potent turbo 5cyl. It has displacement and HP, not sure how much.

It might be a Seattle thing. $100 worth of yard sale rejects occupies the garage while the $50K car sits out exposed to the elements.

Presumably the Edge just came off that trailer. I’d imagine they’ll move elsewhere once the move in is complete.

FWIW, the 5-cylinder turbo in my 2006 S60 2.5T is listed as 2.5L 208HP. It was also available with the T5 engine: 2.4L 257HP, and the R had a 2.5L 300HP (basically the same as the 2.5T but with more boost and some upgraded components).

It’s a 2016 V60CC. Must be blown pretty hard, I think it is around 300 HP.
If I ever get another MINI (not impossible) I could get it in the 3-cyl, then I can say I’ve owned inline 3, 4, 5 and 6 cyl cars.

I just sold a nice house in a nice neighborhood in spokane on my way back home here to CO. I had 7 offers immediately on it and ended up selling for 15% over asking. Crazy, really.
Anyway, good luck w/the new neighbors - the edge i could take or leave but the Stelvio is at least a tiny bit interesting in my opinion.

IIRC the T5 there is 2.5L, 250HP .
