This is in a neighbor’s yard. I don’t recall ever seeing this type of mushroom before. Looks like a very fancy sliced potato appetizer at some restaurant and I can’t remember where and it’s driving me crazy.

Thanks, 2020.

Among the other cool aspects: it’s scattered far and wide across the yard.

Bonus: a day lily seed, which I don’t believe I’ve ever seen before. What’s really cool about it is the color; at a glance it looks black, but it’s actually a dark metallic blue. Not something I expect to see in nature.

And for putting up with my nature crap: a brown wagon (not manual, sadly, but a classic Jeep Cherokee which makes up for that lack).

Unfortunately I’ve lost a great deal of my older photos, but one of my all-time faves features some tiny mushrooms. Canon 50mm macro lens.

I shot many to, with my old LG phone, did a factory reset and lost everything. I believe t he orange mushrooms at the tree base are supposed to glow at night. Never returned to check if true. Mushrooms are not plentiful this year due to the drought, but previous years have been bountiful.

These will pop up in our garden growing off the peat moss.

The mushrooms in my yard look like hamburger buns :P

I’d ask whether they taste like buns, but I’d hate for you to poison yourself on my behalf.

I don’t think so, because the caps(?) are more twisted on mine.

One of my favorite naturalists could tell me in a jiffy, but with this crazy year I have no idea where she’s working. She loves fungi.

No, you can see gills in just jeepins image. Hen of the woods is a polypore mushroom. To early in the season as well. Probably amillaria mellea but could be a poisonous look a like

Thank you. Hen of the woods was the only thing I could think of, but I knew some other Oppo would have a better idea what it was.
