They published this collection last week, which at least feels like it is 50% shoving things in waffle makers (it’s not at all, but that was the waffle shaped impression it left o n me) :

What is “something that would get me killed at my house” for $200.

That’s basically a pizza empanada, but baked and grilled instead of deep-fried.

I’ve got some leftover Costco pizza. I just might try this today for lunch. Cleaning the waffle maker will be a PITA though.

You never touch a Norwegians waffle maker. EVER.  I would not survive it.

Get a few paper towels damp & close them in the waffle maker for a minute or two . Steam cleans the sucker pretty nicely ; anything left should pick off with a chopstick without too much bother.

“Will It Waffle” is the best thing, maybe the sole good thing, on Lifehacker these days.

Maybe better on a Geo rge Foreman grille or pani ni press for easier clean up.

Y’know, the Italians came up with a word for this “pizza empanada” concept many years ago: C A L Z O N E

The best method of reheating pizza is in a non-stick skillet, over medium heat, with a lid on it. It crisps up the underside of the crust and the lid traps just enough heat to re-melt the cheese.

comes with the bonus of crunc hy cheese bits in your waffles! It actually works well, similar cooking time, waffle iron beeps, quesadillas done to perfection.

I’ve got one of those too. And yes.

Yes, this. Last time I used the skillet to crisp, then tossed it in the microwave for about 20 seconds. Same principal. A toaster oven can be pretty good too.

Yep. Depending on how much I’m reheating, I also like using the toaster oven or even regular oven. My toaster oven has a reheat mode where it skips the usual pre-heating cycle and instead warms up gently so you can chuck stuff in there and let it hang out for a while.

Funny comments on this topic from the LH thread -

Look, I already have too damn many things in my kitchen and your ceaseless shilling for Big Waffle is not helping!

I am starting to worry you’re living in a closet with a waffle iron.

I have re heated pizza many times on a Foreman grille, using a coffee mug to hold the lid high enough to heat without contacting the slice. This pizzadilla concept eliminates the need for a mug and sounds delicious.

This sort of reminds me of high school, when the cafeteria would serve a vaguely calzone-like item called a "foldini" the day after pizza day, that seemed suspiciously like a leftover piece of pizza folded over onto itself and reheated.

Yeah just what I want to do ... clean melted cheese out of a waffle iron.

I prefer the toaster oven. Gets the same results with less work
