$48 later, Jolene the Sunbird has a new right rear tire.
The shop prorated this one for me as sort of an in-house “road hazard” warranty since I’ve been a customer there for 10+ years. And, my grandad was their customer for decades before me. The tire itself with my discount was $18.50. Only thing is these 14-inchers are only gonna become more difficult to source as time goes on.

Haven’t seen that clean of a Sunbird in ages, nice job keeping her pristine!

I hear those Michelin model XGV’s are pretty popular in the 75R-14 category

I’ve got some 15 year old 195/60 R14's I just took off my datsun. Those things were crap.

My son’s ‘95 Nissan 200SX has 175/65/14 tires. Not too many choices from Tire Rack, about 10 different tires total, ranging from $50 - $130 in price. We went with some Kumho Solus tires, as they were the best out there without spending a ton of money on a point A - B car.

I’ve found the General Altimax RT43 to be a great tire overall.
Relatively cheap, decent handling, nice ride, good traction, and decent wear.

Glad you got Jolene going again, and I love that tire price. The new tires on my gravel bike cost more :)

My Honda Fit has 14" wheels too!
I think it will be a while yet before 14" wheels are hard to come by.
Now the 12" wheels cars like the Ford Festiva or Geo Metro used... THOSE are are harder to find... but you can still get them from Coker Tire:
