Hovercraft are fine as long as you never have to stop, turn, or travel in a straight line.

This is exactly why I don’t believe in hovercars becoming a thing any time soon. They’re just as much an impractical fantasy as flying cars.

Now that I’m on my computer, I do see that this particular implementation does have one wheel touching the ground, thereby granting it some modicum of stopping/starting ability. That still doesn’t help it turn.
I agree with you about the flying cars. Those are pure fantasy.
