Just had mine- Worcestershire sauce, black pepper, seasoned salt, and the secret ingredient- a little splash of olive oil once they’re on the grill. Top with grilled onions and Provolone cheese. And for dessert- grilled pineapple with brown sugar and cinnamon.

Yes, I want one. I've had a bad afternoon and that looks refreshing.

We had a simple meal with ham, peas, and mac and cheese.

Mrs. Ttyymmnn does the seasoning, I do the cooking. I think this was W orcestershire sauce, dried onion, garlic powder( ?) , and Montreal steak seasoning. Maybe something else. I use my smaller Weber to cook diced potatoes in foil, seasoned with olive oil and season salt.
Finest kind.

Sorry about that. Wish I could give you one. Come over sometime when we grill salmon.

Simple works. My oldest boy’s girlfriend was over today, so we went a little bigger than usual. Tomorrow it’s chicken/rice casserole with canned chicken.

Yes, but I’m on a diet.
(I actually love broccoli , but I’d murder someone for a burger right now)

Looks great! Did burgers and brats Sunday. Pizza for kids and Greek salad for me tonight

They were! Next I think I’m going to try grilling a mess of shrimp.

I love a good casserole. Easy to make. Easy to clean up. Often enough leftovers for lunch the next day.

Probably this weekend. I’m trying to be good until then, and I’m mostly succeeding .

One of my go-to recipes is a super easy ham casserole my mother taught to make. It’s a simple roux--butter, flour, milk--a bunch of grated cheese, a precooked ham slice cut up in chunks, and whatever noodles are in the pantry. My boys love it. And you can make mac and cheese by leaving the ham out. There are rarely any leftovers.

When I was on a diet, my coach said, “Eat very carefully for six days, and on the seventh day eat whatever the hell you want.”

That’s basically how Weight Watchers was when I used them 15 years ago. It works pretty well up to a point. I lost a massive amount of weight and then struggled for a year to lose the last 15 lbs. My problem was that when I finally hit my goal weight, my mind said “Great, that’s over with!” and then I went back to my old ways over time.
This time I’m using Noom and it seems to be working ok, but I’m having a harder time this go around dealing with my cravings.

T hat does sound good. Our standards are my spaghetti, enchilada casserole, tuna casserole, chicken-broccoli-rice-cheese casserole, and goulash. My wife likes to make soups, so we have a variety that we eat regularly. She also makes a mean turkey gumbo. Unfortunately, she developed a seafood allergy, so we don’t get to eat etouffee very often. We bought an instapot last year and have been experimenting with it. It cooks things fast, but the meats really need to be seared in a pan or they turn out a bit strange. It’s a good way to make a pot roast fast.

You are killing me! My 15yo will not eat anything aquatic. No allergy just wont. I look forward to seeing a pile of shrimp on that grill!

Our diet doesn’t cut burgers out, we just drop the bun, cheese, and excessive toppings. Patty, onions , and a little bit of condiment of choice.
I also love the brocc. Olive oil, onion n garlic powder, toss it in the oven for 20 minutes.

ME!!! I want one!
Do you have salad to go with it?

I’m on a diet too... the Keto diet... but with low salt and low fat.
So the way I eat burgers is without the bun and just with some good mustard.
It’s the condiments like mayo and ketchup as well as the buns that make burgers unfriendly to diets. Cutting out cheese and bacon is also advisable.

“When is cheat day?”
Cheat days should be saved for eating doughnuts.

“Great, that’s over with!” and then I went back to my old ways over time.”
That’s the problem with most diets.. The effect is temporary because the action is temporary.
What is needed is a permanent change.
I myself am going to be on a variation of the Keto diet for life. But that’s okay. There are still plenty of things I like.
I just treat all the high carb stuff like they’re special occasional treats to be had no more than 1-2 times a month.
I’m gonna have a doughnut this weekend!

Every time I put broccoli in the oven it goes wrong, so I gave up. I either stir-fry or steam it instead, or eat it raw.
I need to remember that I can do that with burgers. And other things, actually. Last week they ordered Jimmy John's at work and I reflexively ordered before I remembered that a) I brought my lunch and b) I'm not supposed to do that. I saved the sandwich for dinner and it all worked out, but I also forgot you can order their sandwiches as a lettuce wrap. Man, it's really hard for me to break routine.

Noom is all based on calorie density, so they really emphasise veggies and lean meats. Like Weight Watchers, no food is really off-limits, you just have to make it fit your plan. I like Noom better because I’m recording everything in the app and it’s giving me better clarity on what I eat and how the day stacks up. And I can go back and see what I've done over time. That’s the more important thing for me, because I have to change my overall behaviors and habits. So far I'm down around 14 lbs since July 4th.

My issue with JJ’s unwiches is that I LOVE the bread that goes on those subs. Whenever I eat an unwich, I always think something’s missing. The bread...the bread is missing.
For brocc ol i, 425 for 20 minutes. cut the brocc into bite sized pieces and lay them on a pan (I put aluminum foil on the pan for easy clean), drizzle olive oil, salt, garlic powder, onion powder (or flakes). For even more flavor, sub the oil and salt for red wine vinai g r ette. They’re good hot and slightly crispy, or cold and eaten the next day.

That’s great!
I’m down about 25lbs since last year.. which was my target. More importantly... blood pressure is back to normal and I’m not pre-diabetic anymore.
The only outstanding issue are the cholesterol numbers... which are better, but not optimal yet.

Jimmy John’s bread is pretty good, but I don’t think I’d have a problem going without it. What I should really try is Carl’s Jr’s 1/3 lb. Burger as a lettuce wrap, which I think they still do.
That’s pretty close to the recipe I followed, but the broccoli ended up a bit burnt. We've gotten a new oven since then, so maybe I'll try it again.

Congratulations, that’s awesome! I have relatively normal cholesterol numbers when you combine them, but my good cholesterol is low. I’m trying to do things to fix that like eating more almonds but they’re so high in calories that it puts a big dent in my daily allowance.
I’ve got a long way to go, but considering how I felt like I could do a lot better following the Noom plan last month , I think I’m on a pretty good track. I’ve got to find a way to shoehorn more walking into my days because I know that will help. I’ve been working so much, though.
