Ive rented fairly nice sports cars through Turo. It’s nice to drive around and pull hard getting into the highway, but I’ll never recklessly drive em. Tempting when cars come with line lock these days.

Here’s the story in my head. Bob bought his dream car. A kick-ass CORVETTE! Things were going great for a while. Then he lost his job because of COVID. He thought it wouldn’t last and he had some savings to get through for a while. Then he was faced with a hard choice - food, electric bill, house payment, or car payment. Something had to give. Maybe he let a payment or two get by. Maybe the stimulus check let him keep his toy for another month. Then reality set in. It was time to figure out a plan. Maybe he read “ Rich Dad, Poor Dad” and realized that he could turn his liabilities into assets. So, he signed up with Turo.

It’s about the only way I could see renting out my car to someone. The only other person to drive it is my wife (and the mechanics at Subaru).
