Front & rear ARBs!!! $8k all day. Shes clean. You won’t be able to use that front ARB if you gear it up, because of the carrier break.

For that price I expect to see pictures of a virtually pristine undercarriage. If it were basically rust-free (a good possibility in Nashville) then I could imagine around $9k with the extras, if I were like you and this were my ideal vehicle setup. So close.

Ring gears are thicker/thinner depending on their ratio, and you’ll need a different carrier for say, 3.55 and up and 3.27 and down. The break on the dana 30 is 3.54 and stock manual trans XJs are 3.07. So if you wanted to regear the truck to 4.10s or 4.56s you need a new carrier, and that ARB locker is of no use. The break on the 8.25 is super low like 2.47 or something so that is ok.

Each year (non-pandemic) there’s a PTO demonstration with old CJs and various tools in at a Willys festival western Ohio. I’ve been to the event but missed the demos; hopefully someday the world will be saner and I can finally  see them in action.

I’d love a PTO equipp ed CJ with a full array of attachments, from compressor to lumber saw. I’d like for it to have a bed extender, snow plow and arc welder too. A go anywhere, do anything multi-tool vehicle.
