Teslas are starting to sell rather nicely here, I see em on the streets a lot more now that the M3 is available. I'm yet to see a MY, though there's one inside the dealer.

I don't think I've actually looked at one as being something interesting since the 3 came out. Every once in a while I see an X or a Y, but they are just uglier.

I'd say the S is the best looking, but the 3 is just a mini S so it's fine. The Y just doesn't quite appeal to me.

Last I checked, you get a 100% discount on road tax, which used to be brutally high in Mexico City but got slashed 66% last year... so it’s not a significant benefit really. The big one is that you get the EV plates, so you’re exempted from the Hoy no circula program. But you do have to pay full VAT.

Hoy no circula is a program where cars with certain emissions can’t be on the roads every day.

But, given you can get out of state plates without road tax, and also bribe the emissions inspector for the Hoy no circula program and get the low emissions sticker on any car... I don’t think owners get any tax benefits at all.

The whole system is so badly thought out that you can get the mild hybrid Jeep wrangler with the EV plates.
