Let’s get started with having a Class B van.
*Costs around $100,000. This is a lot, but when you have a vehicle that’s $50,000 (thanks to high interest & a six year term) AND $800+ monthly rent that never ends, dragging one of these fellas out for six years is a good idea. After six years, you’re DONE! It’s just car maintenance from here.
*Movable. Apparently, jobs are scarce. Why worry about finding a job when you can just pick up & move.
*Wi-Fi? Most cars come with hot spots, cell plans could work if service is good, and places are open to use Wi-Fi if necessary.
You get three beds, a bathroom, a kitchen, and storage areas, as well as your own vehicle?! I’m being completely serious when I wonder why these aren’t more common.

I think I'll end up in Caravan...maybe a Sienna.

If you think of the ProMaster as a Grander Caravan, you can land yourself in a Travato. I need to stop myself from spending the next hour looking at stuff about them.

Funny story, many municipalities here in western Canada have already or are in the process of banning people from living in vehicles. No overnight allowed.
But they’ll happily sell you some government heroin.

I can’t afford a Travato. It’s the price of a modest 2-3 bedroom house .

Hotel? Trivago. House? Travato.

But what would be an appropriate replacement on the side of a Travato for 'Free Candy"?

About to go live in my car for two weeks. But that’s by choice. Sleep in the back like an RV. R-class for the win!

The Class C motorhome is the Achilles heel of the Class B. For the same money you get a *lot* more space and don’t have to deal with driving a bus/Class A .

Last Van City

I can see on this is
from 2018,
in the Globe and Mail.
V
ehicles aren’t supposed to be parked for more than 3h in front of a home or business they aren’t in the vicinity of visiting unless they have a permit. Wonder if this is now common?
I don’t think bylaw/metermaids or the cops actively enforce this unless there’s some other additional violation(s) .
You know,
in a way I thought maybe it would have taken off a bit more here.

They depreciate so much that a 2015 with 60,000 miles is, like, $20,000.

I thought the whole thing was a bunch of fear mongering pessimism, so I made this post to mock the headline.
But seriously, if someone can find one of these for the price of their car payment & forego rent, that could avoid some issues.

That’s what they’ve been directed to do in order drive clicks and meshing with the rest of the sister sites. It’s not going to change unless the ups sell.
I had a co-worker that lived in an RV park with a financed Class-C, I may have actually convinced him to do it too. He did pay more rent than me, but refused to do cheaper basement suite. Weird dude but he actually liked it.

Personally, I love the idea of living in an RV. My car, not so much. I could manage, but it would only fit one and wouldn’t be too comfy. S eems to be where a lot of people are heading though . Can we get stimulus RVs instead?

Some 1990’s ones are probably worth less than $1,200.
Let’s say there are 10,000,000 households affected by rent issues (because we know some will try to scam the system). $1,200 motorhomes per household would be $12 billion.
Seriously, though, TRILLIONS when there’s a lot of pork in there is unnecessary. $1,200 for 10,000,000 people (a LOT) is still a lot less than a trillion. The trillions were already spent, don’t do that again.
