I haven’t had an update about the Burgman 650 I bought from Atfsgeoff’s girlfriend. It’s been swell!!! Well...until today, anyway.

Kinja'd!!!

Back when I got a new tire for it, doing all the work was actually really fun . 10 minutes to get it off, another 20 to get it back on, stupid spline. I can definitely confirm that this wasn’t a job I could do on the side of the road in PA with the tools I had.

With a new tire the scooter has been indeed the Cadillac of scooters. I love it even more than my old Goldwing!

I’ve learned from my mistakes in PA. I now carry a tire pump, sealant, and all the tools I need to get either wheel off. The storage in the Burgman is so cavernous that carrying all this stuff is super easy, barely an inconvenience.

But I’m not sure it loves me back. Today I started feeling some hesitation on initial acceleration, then the FI light came on. 5 minutes later and it began running like one of the cylinders is missing. I was able to limp it home but man it doesn’t sound healthy. I reckon new coils and new plugs ought to set it straight.

It currently has the power of a 150cc GY6. Poor thing. xD

I suppose along with fresh coils and plugs I’ll replace the badly crazing windshield as well. Really class it up. :)

Try pushing the coils really hard onto the plugs. I had that issue intermittently and it was caused by poor connection between the port side coil and the plug. They don’t clip on very securely.

I was just going to ask you about that lol. Hmmm, if that turns out to be the problem  maybe I’ll make something to keep them pushed down.

That essentially has an SV650 motor right?

You could try a few different brands of spark plug and see if any fit tighter. I don’t remember what brand is in there. I already replaced the port side coil.

Kinja'd!!! HFV has no HFV. But somehow has 2 motorcycles > Mercedes Streeter

“ The storage in the Burgman is so cavernous that carrying all this stuff is super easy, barely an inconvenience.”

Was that an intentional Pitch Meeting reference?
