First Ford took the KA+, Fiesta and Focus, lifted them a little, added some plastic and called them Active.
Now they’ve done it to the FORD Transit Connect and Custom, both the van and tourneo versions.

Lol. They are only 1.5TDCi 118bhp engines.
Apparently they have the transmission or something from the Focus ST to send power to the wheel with most grip to compensate for lack of 4W D. They do have front and rear skid plates though.
Full of the sound of the Gran Fury, signifying nothing.

Given that I’m rather sedentary I guess I’m not in Ford’s target demographic. Their loss...

Overland vans are pretty trendy right now. Even if it just a looks package they can still make some money this way.

They will sell more than they have any right to, but I don't get it. Less MPGs. LESS MPGS ON OUR WORK VAN!

then maybe the Ford Focus Vignale estate is right for you. The Vignale spec is a ‘luxurious’ spec with comfort and refinement in mind.

The U.S. only gets the Connect out of the two.
The Larger of the two, the Custom makes more sense for camping.

Ah yes, the Subaru Outback solution. “Put a 2 inch spacer and some body cladding on it, it’ll sell like hotcakes!”

At first I was going to say that the name “nugget” was pretty odd sounding, but.... those vans actually look pretty cool. Definitely not overland material, but they look totally fine to camping in your average campground.

I believe the two in the first pic are Ford’s own in house conversions.
While the camper in the next two pics are of a van which the owner has converted themselves.

That Transit/ Tourneo Connect Active is pretty sharp. For some reason I actually think the Fiesta Active looks better than the regular Fiesta, though the Focus and Ka Active don’t really do anything for me.
