I was just thinking today about how surprisingly popular these cars are. I see different ones on a regular basis. Then today, I came across this dynamic duo.

Sorento?
It seems ever one I’ve come across had black painted outer pillars, body colored pillars went out in early/mid 2000s or most vehicles.

I saw one (or maybe a couple) at a BHPH in Milly Vegas earlier this year, and there’s one for sale in Gwinnett County right now.
Have you seen the two or three Lincoln Blackwoods running around Cobb & Paulding County?

Borrego!
I noticed a two tone scheme on a lot of first gen Sorentos, too.

So sad about the colour choices. The orange looks good.
I had a customer back when I worked at Crappy Tire who loved his Borrego. Couldn’t understand why they couldn’t sell more. I guess the Telluride is the Borrego 2: Electric Boogaloo?

I see quite a few of the later ones, but I don’t think I’ve seen a blackwood since about, oh, that would put it at 6 months ago.
There is a Borrego near me but I can't say I see many actually on the roads. I have seen more Geo Trackers lately than is really reasonable. Car spottings, especially for something fairly vanilla, come in waves based on how much you are thinking about them. The Blackwood, always black I've noticed, bucks the trend as does the Tracker which makes it more unusual.

And once again comes before a major r ecession that hurt sales. Except one was a body on frame beast wearing white New Balances and the other is a wagon in heels with a beautiful dress.

Did you guys get them or do you just know about them by hanging around nerdy Americans too often?

My older brother is looking for a newer tow vehicle fit his one man lawn car operation. His 2000 Dakota is one it’s way out, and dies t quite have the power he’d like in its V6.
I’ll have to remind him that these exist. Seems like it would tick a lot of boxes for him, and come well into his 8,000 dollar budget without getting one with crazy high miles. The other vehicle he’s most considering is a Ridgeline but at that price point you’re looking at stuff with 200,000 mikes or more.

Lots of the small dealers that don’t post on cars.com probably have some for sale. Look around; they seem to be a good, cheap find.
