I knew a guy back in the day who had a really nice red Beetle, but he could only afford two nice wheels for it. So he put them both on the left side. His reasoning was that if anybody saw him in the car, they’d see the wheels. Sadly, he got shot dead in a drug deal gone wrong. :(

It was a joke about quaaludes. Considering that I haven't heard of anyone abusing that particular drug since the early '80s, it's a joke that flew over most of our heads.
