I start a new job Monday. I’m going to miss the previous place, but it was time to move on: higher title, more room for career development with an actual career path, and a truly massive raise .

I lived and i have zero after effects from my accident. 100% healed, which is significant given 10 spinal fractures 4 months ago. (no surgeries either)

Things aren’t bad for me at least, but just depressing. My high school decided to hold graduation tomorrow, INDOORS AND WITHOUT MANDATORY MASKS JUST TWO DAYS AFTER THE WILD UNOFFICIAL PROM I DIDN’ T GO TO! Clearly this is unsafe, not to mention illegally exceeding the gathering cap by 4x, so I won’t be going. Maybe I’ll be able to get out tomorrow and go hiking or something.

That’s rough. I can’t imagine what it’s like to be graduating at a time like this. It’s definitely frustrating having administration not doing what’s in the best interest for everyone.

Definitely go do something you want to do this weekend - outdoors is always good. That’s my go-to when trying to escape reality for a bit.

Summer college classes have been unexpectedly time intensive. I should get some stuff done, but who knows? I can’t not do something fun as recompense.

In my case, I know for a fact that their excuse of not having the infrastructure to hold it on the field is a complete lie or falsehood. I know because I’ve helped set up similar events there. Just complete lunacy.

And just 2 days after the wild and completely unregulated unofficial prom. If one person got it, the entire school would get it through this one event. I'm pretty upset about the whole thing.

Actually this year has been really good to me work wise. Landed a huge job over the winter now in the midst of design. This is a 5 full time employee job for 9 months! Got a sweet bonus and bought a new bicycle. The corona and civil unrest has been a real downer but at the same time I feel like a bi t of a shake up of the norm is due.

Good on you buddy. I’m looking to switch departments within the plant. The sporadic switching of shifts kills me at my current job. One day I’m on days, other days I work through the night. I don’t mind working any shift, but keep me there so I can 1. keep my sleep schedule sane. and 2. maintain a consistent schedule outside of work

You’ve learned a couple of good lessons early in life.

I normally don’t recommend a summer session as a student’s first introduction to college. It’s just a bit too intense for most students. My daughter had the same realization.

Thank you. I’d rather learn them sooner than later, but doing so doesn’t make the present particularly fun.

Late Short Summer is pretty intense, but I didn’t have a choice, since that was the only way I could get in. Online especially, it is awfully tedious. I’ve made sure I’ve at least walked around the block every three hours or so or else I would go insane very quickly.
