At first I thought this was a weird swap, then saw the "DIESEL FUEL ONLY" warning on the instrument panel, which led me to checking Wikipedia to find that it was a factory option. WEIRD.

Ultimate Radwood cruiser. Lincoln used this same engine in the their diesel Mk7s - didn’t sell many because they were slugs, but their effort was a hell of a lot better than what GM cobbled together at the time.

Lincoln offered the BMW M21 diesel engine in 1984 a nd 1985 Con tinental and Mark VII. This is the same engine used in the 1983 - 1988 BMW 524td.

When I was a kid, my aunt had one of these bustlebacks - not the diesel, I am pretty sure.
