My 16 yo cousin is working to become an automotive photographer, she asked if we could do a shoot on the Rally van. I kindly obliged and these are the results ( would have posted sooner, but I wasn’t adding rights to all these manually ).

Those are pretty good. I’m looking forward to seeing how rollers look!

Good photos but they need cropped i think. The blocking isnt that great in my humble opinion.

Nice shots, and nice location. Would like to see different styles of photo, with more photos where the vehicle isn’t dead center in the frame. I do like the shots with different vantage points. Most people only shoot their car from 5.5 feet off the ground where they are standing.

Very good work. Some shots could use better framing; placing the subject in the center of the frame makes for boring images. See the difference between

Kinja'd!!!

and

Kinja'd!!!

particularly how the lines on the subject flow in relation to the background.

This shot nails it.

I'd do something about the lighting and exposure in order to bring out a bit more detail from dark areas (the wheels are almost completely lost), but try to keep the mood of the image.

Not sure where we’ll be doing that one, but the place I’m thinking doesn’t have anywhere to get air. Plenty of deep slop water though.....

She is very much just starting out, I believe mine was her 4th official shoot, so she will appreciate constructive criticism.

The lighting wasn’t great that day either given darkness was beginning to set in.

We’re in WI.

She’s starting to get people “hiring” her to do shoots for them, so she’s starting to charge.

Does that little Lumix camera still happen?

Any idea if the vignetting was added in post or the result of a long lens hood?

I’m usually not a huge fan of the effect when used with large, predominantly white backgrounds. But it does add to the overall feel of the images in front of the old railyard building.

She used a polarizer on some of the shots.

Some shots were done with a long lens hood, so that’s likely what you’re seeing in some shots.

Figures. The hood I have on my 70-300mm does the same thing if i’m pulled all the way back to 70.

Anyway, nice shots. Cool van, and I hope your cousin sticks with photography!
