I couldn’t resist. I put my Grandma’s ‘64 Impala SS hubcap on Phoebe.

Kinja'd!!!

It fits!... sort of. Okay, so it just hangs there. But that’s good enough for pictures.

Kinja'd!!!

As wrong as it is to put Chevy hubcaps on a Ford, I must say I’m digging this...

Kinja'd!!!

Okay, that’s enough staring at Phoebe’s butt for one day. It is purty tho...

That is a good look. Any wheel plans in the near future?

I like it, though it makes my left eye twitch a little bit.

I had the original hubcaps repaired so those will be going on at some point, though I’m concerned that the combination of radial tires on more flexible rims meant for bias ply tires will make them fall off anyway. If that is the case, I’ve heard that silicone strips will solve the problem so I’ll try that. But what I’d really like are some Ford styled steel wheels like they put on the Fairlane and Mustang . They’re the same bolt pattern but a smaller diameter, so I’d have to either get new tires as well or get larger aftermarket rims, b ut they look soooo good.

Which part, the Chevy-on-Ford part, or the fact that they don’t fully attach to the Ford’s rims?

The hubcaps would be interesting to see. Silicon should do it. But those Mustang wheels, mmmmmmm.

...But what if I need to change a tire?

Good point. Take along a drill and a big bit. Drill holes in the hubcap for the lug wrench?

Gah... How ‘bout no. I’ll take my chances with the silicone.

The Chevy-Ford part.  It’s only because that wheel cover is instantly recognizable to me as belonging to a 64 Impala SS.  If you put it on a 62 Impala SS I would still react about the same way.

Yea, I was joking. but adhesive 5200 is about the best flexible holding I know of. Maybe just use a few dots.
