For the first time in 2 years of owning one, I have encountered another in the wild--while driving my own.

Kinja'd!!!

Stay safe, everyone.

Almost hit one head on last week. They're wide.

Biggest pain is when you see someone in the same car as you. But you’re not in yours, it’s at home or something.

You want to ram them so they get out and you can tell them that you’re brothers.

As a Jeep owner, I relate more with Ms. Silverman.

When I lived in Houston there was almost always one parked at the mall where I did my grocery shopping. And here at my new apartment, there’s one down on the second level of the parking garage.

Or when you see your weird/rare car parked somewhere, and can’t find the owner. It’s not like I’d leave a note even if I carried pen and paper around, but I really do want to know everyone else who  is crazy enough to own 80s Alfa sedans around me.

I see my other cars frequently enough, ( as in I know where one or more of each parks every day) that I don’t care that much, even if they are plenty uncommon/weird — an ELR and a 300CE.

I often  do the WRX wave, only to get reminded that I’m not actually in mine when they don’t wave back.

Just wait until you see an 8C in traffic. I think my heart stopped for about 30 seconds. It was black and I heard it long before I saw it. Lovely piece of machinery. My fire for Alfa’s has been rekindled since that day.

I’ve waved at plenty of MR2s from the seat of my GX and formerly 4Runner. Makes me look like an idiot, I imagine.

I'm always tempted to wave at subarus when I'm driving my miata lol. I'm sure they would be confused. I just need a giant banner that says MY OTHER CAR IS AN STI

Six months in I’ve yet to encounter another Pajero on the road. I’m thinking I probably have a similar wait to do so. I’ve only seen one other JDM import vehicle ever in Southern NM, and it’s a pool guy that uses a Honda City k ei truck.

Yeah I’ve only seen those a handful of times out here in CA. I’m assuming you’ve already come across other XEs , though.

Yeah, he found his hand before I could press the horn hard enough.

The 4C’s horn trigger is conventional (the entire steering wheel hub) but needs a good shove from both hands to actually press, body builders excepted.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen an 8C in the wild, but it’s probably one of the best-looking cars of the 21st century.

The 4C ain’t too bad either, and a lot more affordable.  That’s why I have one ;)

I have come across one with CA plates on it a few months ago that was probably just visiting. Las Cruces isn’t a big Jag town (probably a function of average income generally and dealer support measured in the hours away). There is a guy with a black XF that I’ve seen and a blue F-type in town, beyond that most of the ones I see around are older British Leyland or Ford era cats.

I do see the occasional XE in Albuquerque or Santa Fe.

Definitely.

I had a friend with an Evo 6 TME, and one of the cool turbo Colt Ralliarts. He also had a beat up, riced Lancer coupe. He was always waving at Evos when he wasn’t in his, and nothing is more desperate than a shitty Lancer coupe trying to play solidarity with the big boys.

The irony being that his Evo at home is probably the most desirable Evo they built ;)

I have too many Milanos. One of them even works most of the time! I’ve got 2 project milanos and two wrecked parts cars. One of the projects works 90% of the time(but there’s always something more I want to fix or refresh) , the other has its interior in my living room and engine on a stand.

I don’t really post here, never even asked for authorship, but the cars show up often on my Instagram “@save_the_milanos” and I own save the milanos.com but haven’t really don’t anything with it.

If I had to do it again, I’d buy one nice car rather than 4 rough or parts ones, but it was easier to convince myself to spend $800-$2000 at a time than like $6+k all at once on a more sorted example. And now if I do go for a nice one I’ll know how to maintain and fix it, which is a necessity with these cars!
